AskSam Alternative For Windows
MyInfo is a free-form organizer, which is a suitable replacement for the discontinued free-form database tool AskSam.
Both tools allow you to organize text documents with user-defined fields, containing data like numbers, texts and dates. Just like AskSam, MyInfo can list these fields as an entry form, just above the document text.
Thanks to the excellent AskSam import plugin, created by our forum member mfelix, you can quickly import your AskSam documents and start using MyInfo right away!
MyInfo is mature and stable Windows software (first version created back in 1999) and is actively developed.
What happened to AskSam?
AskSam was a free form database software for Windows. It was a popular tool, because it offered an easy way to organize various types of information in an easy to use personal database. People used AskSam to organize email messages, documents, text files, and spreadsheets.
AskSam was actively developed until 2009 when its last version - AskSam 7 - was released. Since then no new versions were released, the application received no more support and their official web site was down since 2015.

Getting Started
- Download and install MyInfo (free 30-day trial).
- Download and install the free AskSam import plugin.
- Export data from AskSam and import it in MyInfo (refer to the plugin's online documentation or download the Adobe PDF guide), or contact us for import assistance.
- Design your entry forms using Tools > Forms in MyInfo.
